Hello and Happy Holidays to all,
I send greetings this year from Northern California. Who’d thunk that I’d be all the way out here, but then, who’s surprised? I drove out here from New Orleans in January with my 2 little Poms in Tow to take a good job at the VA hospital in Martinez – an assistant nurse manager’s job in long term care. I got an apartment in Vallejo and am doing fine with the transition. I miss my life as it was in New Orleans, but for now, this is fine. And what’s not to like? The weather is agreeable, there’s access to natural beauty and good food and it’s a real no-hassle kind of place.

You can see part of my year in photos here. There’s so much to see and do in this area, including the city of San Francisco, which is a wonderful city and just 30 miles away. In July, I went to Panama to square away my condo there for rental. I am going to Panama yearly and love it more and more each trip. Lucky for me, I have had good friends to help me at each crook in the road- there, here, everywhere - and I am eternally grateful.

On a sad note, I lost my dog midnight in November. He was 13 years old and in frail health, but you know, you secretly hope that they will live forever. Thank goodness, I have Ditto, aka - spitfire – and he is 6 pounds of dynamo who keeps me on my toes.

So, I close this year feeling good about things – New Orleans and its people are recovering, my family and especially, my brother gib, stayed healthy, and I welcome any visitors to California anytime.

Best wishes for 2007.
